We took a full-day hike into these mountains. We got about eye level with snow line on this one.

Here is a view in the other direction after about 3 hours straight up. It was an extremely steep trail.

Most of the hike is extremely steep. As we started to get to altitude, we broke into huge mountain meadows. Feeding the sea of wildflowers are hidden mountains springs.

You can't see the springs in the fields because of the dense flowers, but you can hear them clearly underfoot and have to be careful not to step in them. You can also hear the buzzing of millions of pollinating insects.

Butterflies are everywhere. Here Amy is making friends with one.
