Today was the first official day of my winter break from school and I have to tell you, it sort of feels like winter break when I was a kid! I got up with Tom and sent him off to work and then bundled up myself to go play in the freshly fallen snow.
Really, playing in the snow meant taking pictures around the neighborhood, and here are a few of the best.

Our Laundry hanging to dry.

This is the common fashion now that the winter weather has come in. Even ice and snow cannot seperate Georgian women from their heels. It's a pretty formal dress code here.

At the bizzare.

Same turkey.

Where we buy potatoes.
I came back to the house rather cold and wet and sat by the petchi while my host mother made me tea.
I then made a huge pot of chili using the chili packets sent from home. It's always a little more challenging to make any dish from home here, chili being no exception. You may ask, how can chili be harder to make in Georgia than at home? I will tell you. I had to boil raw beans for two hours and grind the meat myself. So there.
I then visited with some relatives that were over while eating chocolates and drinking coffee.
I did have some work to do today including studying for my Georgian lesson, doing some work for my secondary project and starting my Trimester Report for Peace Corps. But now, I'm relaxing by the petchi again enjoying the New Year's Tree's incessantly blinking lights.
We loved the letter you sent! It really gave us a picture of were you are at. Thank you for taking the time. We miss you two, but it exciting to hear about your new life. You seem to be thriving. It's a little late but HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Yay!
Hope you guys had a great Christmas! It looks like the coffee stand was a wild success! You have more snow there than we do in Michigan. It's been in the high 40's for weeks! No white Christmas for us (even though Crystal and I watched the movie)! Miss you and love you.
