Browns Backers Georgia...

Posted at October 5, 2006 01:39 AM in .

Amy and are still waiting for our official fan club charter from the Cleveland Browns, but we remain die-hard fans from here. Apple's Itunes offers game highlights from every NFL game for download for $1.99. Amy and I take the Peace Corps goal of living at the level of the people that you serve seriously. We do not want to supplement our stipend here with our personal savings. $1.99 is not an impossible amount, but it is significant enough that we cannot do this every week. Even if we could afford the cost, the logisistics of download a big file make this kind of thing tricky. Last Monday, though, we splurged and had our own little Monday Night Football event.

Here we are watching the 15 minute highlight reel of the Browns beating the Raiders. Neither of us knew the outcome before we started watching, even though the game had completed more than 24 hours before. The highlight reel doesn't give the final score until it's over, so the suspense remains intact. It was pretty exciting for us, we even splurged and had chips and beer.

So, this blog features us relaxing on the beach and cheering on our football team. The next blog entry will be about work, lest you get the wrong idea about Peace Corps Service!

You look very grad-studenty in this picture. You guys are getting old. Don't you know they don't use reels anymore?!? :)

Tom and Amy,
It sounds like you are doing a lot of good work, but also enjoying yourselves. I'm very happy for both of you. We'll have to test the Skype phone on our end and call you while we are away.

Miss you,
Kelly
