Gori

Posted at June 21, 2006 07:08 AM in .

We've arrived in Gori for our 9 weeks of training.

Our host family is extremely nice, we are having a great time. We are both getting the language (so far) and it seems as though we might be able to get to a computer from time to time here.

The food is spectacular. We may weigh 500 lbs each by the time we are done.

Not sure what else to tell you with limited time, so if you have questions feel free to post them in comments, I'll try to get to them next time.

How big is Gori? Is the river pretty? Can you see the mountains? Does your host family have children? Ages? Do they speak any English? They're probably only giving you good food right now to get you to stay, then... :)
Love you, Mom

Answer from Amy:
Gori is a "regional center" about the size of Tzezuitlan, Mexico which I know doesn't really help.
We can see the mountains everywhere we look and hope to post pictures soon.
Host family has two boys (18 and 20) 18 yr old Beka speaks some English vocab. Mom and Dad do not. Although Dad speaks a little German which has more cognates than English than Georgian has.
