Packed for Thailand

Posted at March 26, 2006 05:04 PM in Thailand Together .

My mother has been very interested in just how much luggage we're taking to Thailand. I'll tell you this: WAY TOO MUCH!!! Most of what we're taking will not come back: books and teaching supplies I'm donating to House of Hope, clothes that will get ruined during Song Kran water fights, boots that have seen much better days and will probably get ditched after hiking the temples in Cambodia. Unfortunately, all of these things will only make room in our packs for little trinkets to bring home for friends and family.

So, for those of you who might be interested, here's what we're taking:

(For those of you who are not interested in the least, I apologize.)

The black rolling suitcase is full only of things for House of Hope (mostly toys purchased for $0.89 at Marc's). The two frame packs contain our actual neccessities, the backpack is for carry-on electronics and one set of clothes should our luggage get lost, and the black messenger bag will be used as a day pack holding The Lonely Planet:Thailand, our travel documents, and a deck of cards.

So, there you have it. We'll keep you posted as we start out!!

Those lonely planet guides rock, don't they?

Actually, your packing looks very compact. Try a car seat plus toys and books that *won't be donated* (at least not yet plus diapers.
